New names have been added to the line-up for NOS Alive 2019!
Heading to next year’s festival will be our August cover stars IDLES, alongside Robyn, Vetusta Morla, Cut Copy, Vampire Weekend and The Chemical Brothers. They’ll join previously announced artists Smashing Pumpkins, Tash Sultana, Bon Iver, Sharon Van Etten and more.
Next year’s NOS Alive takes place from 11th-13th July in Lisbon, Portugal. Last year’s festival saw sets from Arctic Monkeys, Future Islands, Franz Ferdinand, The National, Queens Of The Stone Age and lots more. Read our review here.

Following on from The Cure being unveiled as NOS Alive’s first headliner for the opening night, the Portuguese festival is excited to announce Bon Iver is playing the main stage on the closing night. The much revered artist also known as Justin Vernon will be bringing his elegiac otherworldly music to the NOS Stage on Saturday 13th July, rounding off three days of outstanding music on the sunny Lisbon coast.

NOS Alive is proud to reveal The Cure will be the opening night headliner, playing the NOS Stage on Thursday 11th of July. The legendary band lead by front man Robert Smith will premiere the Portuguese festival starting off with a big bang, making way for three days of outstanding music on the sunny Lisbon coast.
Without a doubt on the list of the very best bands from the indie rock spectrum, The Cure has released 13 hugely influential and successful studio albums, including “Pornography”, “Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me”, “Disintegration”, “Wish” and “Bloodflowers”, with a new album scheduled for 2019. The band gathered several awards and nominations since 1978, from the most prestigious industry honors, like Brit Awards, Grammy Awards, Ivor Novello Awards and the MTV Awards.
The Cure was formed in Sussex, England in 1978, and during the past 40 years the band has had 13 members, featuring today 5 of them: Robert Smith (voice & guitars), Simon Gallup (bass), Jason Cooper (drums), Roger O’Donnell (keyboards) and Reeves Gabrels (guitars).
The Cure will be playing more than 2 hours of music, drawing on a massive catalogue of songs, from international hits such as “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Close To Me”, “Just Like Heaven”, “Lovesong” and “Friday I’m In Love” to firm fan favourites such as “A Forest”, “Push”, ”Pictures Of You”, “From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea” and “The End Of The World”, as well as a few ‘surprises’!
