NOS Alive Festival, together with the other promoters of music festivals, learned today of the approval of the proposed law, to be approved by the Assembly of the Republic, in which establishes exceptional and temporary measures to respond to the pandemic of the disease COVID-19 within the scope of cultural and artistic fields, especially regarding music festivals.
Under the terms of the same, the ban on the holding of events scheduled until September 30, 2020 and the protection of consumers through the issuance of a voucher of identical value to that of tickets purchased for events postponed due to the pandemic of COVID-19, are announced.
Everything is New intends to wait for the final decision of the Assembly of the Republic to announce the way of implementing this Government decision announced today, which fills everyone here and there with sadness but which will be fully respected in the name of public health.

We are sad to announce that due to the Covid-19 pandemic that the world is currently facing, Taylor Swift has decided to cancel her European tour for 2020, therefore she will not be part of the July edition of NOS Alive 2020.
We understand and Support the artist’s decision considering this global health crisis.
NOS Alive continues to work, following all necessary safety precautions and recommendations in accordance with the Portuguese government, Directorate-General of Health and along with the competent authorities that work with us at the Festival.
We are evaluating on a daily basis all possibilities in order to enjoy music at Passeio Marítimo de Algés and for that we are working on every scenario, including postponement of festival dates with the same line-up.
After the emergency state is lifted we will surely be able to make more appropriate decisions regarding this edition of NOS Alive always having everyone’s safety as our priority, that together since the first edition made “NOS Alive” dream possible.
We thank our public from all around the world, our artists, our sponsors and partners, our suppliers and the whole NOS Alive team, together we will get through this.

Faith No More, which recently announced European gig, is the latest confirmation from NOS Alive’20. The American band joins the festival on July 10 and jumps to the NOS Stage on the same day as Billie Eilish, Finneas, Cage The Elephant and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.
The quintet led by charismatic Mike Patton last played in Europe in June 2015 after the release of Sol Invictus. The album debuted at the top of the international charts: # 2 in Australia, # 4 in Germany and # 6 in the US and UK. Rolling Stone called the album „triumphant,“ the New Yorker called it „a reminder of everything that made Faith No More excellent in the first place,“ and the Los Angeles Times said, „Faith No More has a history of defying expectations.“ , and that’s what you’re doing again with Sol Invictus. ”
Faith No More are Mike Bordin (drums), Roddy Bottum (keyboards), Bill Gould (bass), Jon Hudson (guitar) and Mike Patton (vocals). The San Francisco-born band released seven studio albums: „We Care A Lot“ (1985), „Introduce Yourself“ (1987), „The Real Thing“ (1989), „Angel Dust“ (1992), „King For A Day… Fool For A Lifetime ”(1995),“ Album of the Year ”(1997) and“ Sol Invictus ”(2015).
This year’s edition of NOS Alive has not three festival days, but four. July 8th becomes the first day of the 14th edition. Added to this is the revelation of the first major confirmation to this day.
Kendrick Lamar is the first major confirmation for July 8, NOS Alive’20 extra date. The American rapper, producer, songwriter and actor is one of the most acclaimed rap artist of his generation. Kendrick Lamar is one of those rare MCs who have achieved critical and commercial success while earning the respect and support of those who inspired him.
In 2010, after several years of development, Lamar achieved worldwide recognition with the launch of the “Overly Dedicated” mixtape under his signature. The following year the first studio album “Section.80” released via iTunes was released independently, featuring the single “HiiiPoWeR”. Already in 2012 is the widely acclaimed “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City”, released by several well-known producers such as Dr. Dre, Pharrell Williams, Hit-Boy, Scoop DeVille, Jack Splash and T-Minus.
In May 2015, Kendrick Lamar releases the third album, “To Pimp a Butterfly”. The album quickly reached # 1 on the list of the best publications of the year like Billboard, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone or The Guardian. The following year comes out „Untitled Unmastered“, a compilation of demos recorded during the sessions of „To Pimp a Butterfly“. The year 2017 is marked with the release of the rapper’s fourth studio album, entitled “Damn”.
Kendrick Lamar has received 81 awards throughout his career, out of 186 nominations won. These include 12 Grammy Awards and an ASCAPVanguard Award. In 2018, the rapper became the first pop artist to win the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for music with the album “DAMN”.
Lamar marks his debut at NOS Alive on July 08.
Cage The Elephant will join NOS Alive’20. The American band’s debut album, released in 2008, features several hit singles featured on major radio stations, such as “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”, and drew immediate international attention, which landed them on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
However, 2013 was the year of rise for the group with the release of their third studio album, “Melophobia”, nominated in 2015 for a Grammy Award in the “Best Alternative Music Album” category.
From Kentucky, the Cage The Elephant are Matt Shultz (lead singer), Brad Shultz (guitar), Jared Champion (drums), Daniel Tichenor (bass), Nick Bockrath (guitar) and Matthan Minster (keyboard).

Of Portuguese, Mexican and American descent, Frank Lopes Jr, has been hip-hop since he was 15 and in 2017 releases the first album, “The Rise of Hobo Johnson”, written during a period in which he lived in his Toyota Corolla of 94, a motif that led to the stage name Hobo Johnson.
In 2018, Hobo Johnson made his big debut on Spotify’s New Music Friday with “Peach Scone”. Then, the online publication of the video of that same live performance assured him to sign up for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest, which resulted in 14.6 million views on Facebook and YouTube in just 7 weeks. Immediately all their social networks increased, the number of followers grew to more than a million, thus raising the debut album to #8 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart and #11 on the Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
Wolf Parade, the Canadian indie rock band, is the latest confirmation from NOS Alive’20. The group takes the Sagres Stage on July 11, joining the same day as the already announced Da Weasel and Two Door Cinema Club.
Formed in 2003 and known for the first album “Apologies to the Queen Mary” of 2005, before making a five-year hiatus in 2011, the band already had three full albums in their repertoire. They returned in 2016 with the release of a self-titled EP and a fourth album “Cry Cry Cry”.
Wolf Parade are back with new music, “Against The Day” and thus share the announcement of the 2020 tour that will have Portugal as a stop.
The Irish group, Two Door Cinema Club are the new confirmation for NOS Alive’20. The trio takes NOS Stage on July 11, the same day as the great reunion of Da Weasel.
The band will debut in Portuguese lands the latest album “False Alarm”, released last June. This album marks the group’s return to the studios three years after the irreverent “Gameshow”. According to the band. this new work mocks and satirizes the events of 2019 through the perspective of pop with disco, funk and soul elements.
With four successful discs on the curriculum, the Two Door Cinema Club are now considered by critics and the public one of the great bands of their generation. “Tourist History” (2010), “Beacon” (2012) and “Gameshow” (2016) and “False Alarm” (2019), guaranteed the band the world projection achieved and several successful themes with a captive place on major world radios. The band composed of Alex Trimble in voice, Sam Halliday on guitar and Kevin Baird on bass, promises not to disappoint fans and surprise all those who do not yet know their work.
Dan Snaith, better known as Caribou, is back on track and is the latest confirmation to join NOS Alive’20 line-up The artist performs on July 10 at Sagres Stage.
The Canadian musician, composer and producer of electronic music, shares his new work “Home”, after five years since the release of “Our Love”, the sixth album, universally adored by critics. Snaith promoted the grand debut of “Home” on British radio station BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac’s.
Known for working in the industry under multiple stage names, Manitoba, Caribou and Daphni, Dan Snaith has released four studio albums while Caribou. “The Milk Of Human Kindness” (2005), “Andorra” (2007), “Swim” (2010) and “Our Love” (2014).
The promise of this confirmation can only be one: a concert capable of letting the audience dance from start to finish.
The global phenomenon, Billie Eilish, is the new great confirmation of NOS Alive’ 20, with action scheduled for July 10th at the NOS stage. The young woman, only 17 years old, is a second-time presence in Portugal, after her big debut in Lisbon in September, with a very exhausted concert at Altice Arena, leaving the country surrendered to her success. The American artist joins the poster, to the already announced of Da Weasel and Taylor Swift.

Billie Eilish has a unique and enigmatic style which makes it one of the greatest stars of the alternative pop of today. Since the release of its first single, “Ocean Eyes”, which has become viral – with more than 200 million streams on Spotify, the artist has already caught the attention of big names of the song, such as Dave Grohl, who compared it to Nirvana, or Tom Yorke that went even further asserm That Billie is the only artist to do something really interesting to this day.

The one and only Taylor Swift is the first name to be announced for NOS Alive 2020. The international superstar will appear on the NOS Stage on Thursday 9th July, opening the festival in the biggest possible way and a live exclusive to Portugal in 2020.
The ‘Lover’ singer has just dropped her latest album of the same name last month.
