Sónar and the MEDIAPRO Group sign a three-year collaboration agreement for the development of work in 360º immersive audiovisual and 3D audio.

The new stage Sonar360º stage by MEDIAPRO makes its debut at Sónar 2018 and is dedicated to fulldome audiovisual work. It is an immersive experience that envelops the audience in 360º image and sound.

The dome, measuring 19-meters in diameter -the largest in Spain-, will host anexclusive program of workshops, premieres and live shows to be enjoyed in a fulldome format.

The Sónar+D curated program will include a selection of audiovisual pieces and European premieres from the Société des Arts Technologiques de Montréal and the London Royal College of Art’s Fulldome Research Group, two world-leading institutions in this field, as well as several audiovisual studios in Barcelona, including such as Onionlab and Eyesberg, among others.

Sonar360º by MEDIAPRO will take place at Sónar by Day on 14, 15 and 16 June and will be open from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
SAT (Sociéte des Arts de Technologiques) of Montréal
Montréal’s SAT (Société des Arts Technologiques) is a benchmark reference for the research and production of audiovisual work in spherical format. The SAT produced program includes 4 shorts and 3 long pieces, all of them recent production works, ranging from narrative exploration to abstract experimentation.
London Royal College of Art
The London Royal College of Art RCA Fulldome Research Groupis one of the most prestigious design schools in the world and will screen a selection of 17 works. This university laboratory collaborated with the Peter Harrison planetarium of London’s Royal Observatory.
Barcelona’s Studios
The new Sonar360º stage will also screen a selection of fulldome pieces from creators based in Barcelona. This will include works from Onionlab audiovisual studios who will present the piece Axioma, Eyesberg with Beta 2.1.20, and audiovisual creators Darklight Studio, VJ Eletroiman, VJ Beams and Homem Gaiola, presenting Sacred Geometry + Fuga.
