Dead Club City, Nothing But Thieves’ fourth album, released in June 2024, introduces NOS Alive to a conceptual universe of privilege and alienation, where celebrity culture, social issues, personal relationships and more collide in a metaverse of sound. The group, from Southend, has emerged from the challenges of the pandemic with relentless creativity, culminating in a project that transcends traditional band dynamics.
The album unfolds like an exclusive members’ club the size of a city, exploring various stories and connections within its boundaries. The concept is deliberately open-ended, leaving room for interpretation – is it a mentality, a physical location, another planet or even heaven? This ambiguity sets the stage for multifaceted narratives that deal with despair, class dynamics in society and the search for something new. The band’s decision to self-produce the album resulted in a work that transcends the traditional dynamics of what it means to be a band, presenting a rich and diverse work of sound.
The Black Pumas are confirmed for the first day of NOS Alive’24. The American duo takes to the Heineken Stage on the Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
Black Pumas, one of the most electrifying bands of recent years, first gained recognition with their debut album of the same namereleased in 2019, which was widely acclaimed by critics and nominated for a GRAMMY® in the Album of the Year category.
Now with seven GRAMMY® nominations, the Austin-based duo has made a significant cultural impact with hits such as “Colors”, a gold-certified anthem with more than 450 million streams, reaching number one on the AAA Radio charts and earning GRAMMY® nominations in the following categories Record of the Year and Best American Roots Performance.
Renowned for their explosive live shows, singer/songwriter Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada joined forces in 2017, exploring a unique chemistry that catapulted them to a meteoric rise.
The long-awaited second album, Chronicles of a Diamond produced by Quesada and co-produced by Burton, reveals the Black Pumas bringing their unique vision to life with more power, passion and audacious originality than ever before. The duo, who performed at the GRAMMY® Awards and at President Biden’s inauguration, won the Americana Music Association’s Emerging Act of the Year award and surpassed one million albums sold worldwide.
Larkin Poe bring southern rock from the United States of America to the Heineken Stage on the second day of the 16th edition of NOS Alive.
Rebecca and Megan Lovell are Larkin Poe, GRAMMY©-nominated singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalist sisters who have created their own style of Roots Blues Rock: rough, soulful and enriched by their Southern heritage.
His latest full-length album, Blood Harmony confirms the duo as an essential force in shaping the identity of southern rock-and-roll, injecting new energy into the genre with an innovative perspective and a decidedly feminine force. Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are independent producers of an electrifying, critically acclaimed body of work and are known for constantly touring the world with a fiery vitality.
