The playlists featuresKraftwerk, LFO, Orbital, Aphex Twin, Skrillex, Die Antword, Squarepusher, Flying Lotus, Beastie Boys, Dizzee Rascal, Richie Hawtin and more.
Sónar 25: An advanced music mixtape by Black Coffee
As well as expanding musical horizons, over its long history Sónar has also championed the creation and expansion of musical scenes across the world; both through it’s events in 65 cities to date, and through its innovative programming at the flagship Barcelona event. One DJ who’s career has taken off stratospherically in the years since playing A Taste of Sónar in Johannesburg in 2014 is the South African DJ Black Coffee. To celebrate the anniversary, the Durban selector has created a unique ‘Digital compilation album’ featuring a number of up and coming African artists. Especially mixed and recorded in LA in April 2018, the mixtape also serves as a warm up for the artist’s closing set at Sónar by Day on Friday 15th June, capping off a showcase of African Artists excelling across all genres.
