The immersive dome, nineteen metres in diameter, will this year feature an exclusive programme curated by Sónar+D and consisting of the premieres of seven audiovisual pieces.
Sónar by Day will once again host the Sonar360º by MEDIAPRO space, which this year features three world premieres: ‘Nebulae’, by French artist Joanie Lemercier, who will take us on a one of a kind journey around the cosmos; ‘factors’, by the Japanese technologists Daito Manabe and Satoshi Horii, an abstract piece of audio and generative video built from algorithms; and ‘Perception’, an audiovisual piece by María S. Leiva and Miguel Arrieta, which tells us about the real, the unreal and the perception of both, produced by The MEDIAPRO Studio.
The immersive dome will also feature the projection of ‘Chain Opera’, the latest work by Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst uniting Artificial Intelligence and the human voice; a piece by Vincent Houzé, a digital artist who explores the diversity of terrestrial life forms; and another by German composer Robot Koch and visual artist Mickael Le Goff, who will present a journey through space-time. In addition, every day you will be able to enjoy the live show in fulldome format by visual artist Alba G. Corral and the musician Alex Augier.
Sonar360º by MEDIAPRO will run 18, 19 and 20 July between 13:00h and 21:00h and is part of the three-year collaboration agreement signed last year by Sónar and the MEDIAPRO Group for the promotion of immersive audiovisual and 3D audio.
